Full-time Marketing Coordinator

This position is home-based but MUST BE IN FLORIDA (No relocation provided).

Florida Venture Forum, Florida’s largest statewide support organization for investors and entrepreneurs, has an immediate opening for the role of Marketing Coordinator.

The coordinator will join a small team and serve the Forum’s 500+ members including Florida’s most active VC’s and hottest startups!

We’re looking for someone with energy and passion for innovation, with a positive, “figure it out” attitude. The right candidate will have great writing, creative, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, and enjoy being part of a small team dedicated to its members.

You’ll have the chance to own or be involved with:

  • Membership marketing
    • Including identifying potential members, outreach, meeting setting
    • Work with senior staff on member pricing and levels to meet market demands
  • Website 
    • Content organization and creation (non-graphics)
    • Ensure website is cohesive and intuitive
    • Write content as needed
    • Actualize dynamic events and activity calendar
  • Collateral materials
    • Write, produce and disseminate information sheets for:
      • Events and conferences 
      • Memberships
      • About the Forum
  • Conference and event promotion and marketing
    • Support graphics vendor to promote major conferences and events well in advance
    • Devise marketing plans and pricing with senior staff
    • Plan and manage targeted conference marketing programs
  • Sponsorships
    • Work with staff to create and compile menu of available sponsorships: conference, events, newsletter, etc.
    • With senior staff manage member sales by conducting meetings with members and their marketing staff to match their needs with available sponsorships 
    • Identify and outreach to potential non-member sponsors 
  • Conference and event program management
    • Work with senior staff to manage planning and execution of community events, partner events, etc.
  • Other projects based on candidate strengths

You’ll also have some administrative duties (we all do), including database management, PowerPoints, WordPress, membership platform changes, maintaining member lists… and more mundane tasks like arranging logistics for meetings, booking travel, sending Outlook invites, etc.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements: 

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a professional environment 
  • Bachelors degree in marketing or a related field 
  • Experience in digital marketing & social media platforms is preferred 
  • Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools is preferred 
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail 
  • Experience with event planning is preferred 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Highly collaborative individual comfortable with decision making in a fast paced and client focused environment 
  • Proactive and team oriented 
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel within Florida on a limited basis

Part-time Executive Assistant

The assistant will join a small team and serve the Forum’s 500+ members including Florida’s most active VC’s and hottest startups!

We’re looking for someone with energy and passion for innovation, with a positive, “figure it out” attitude. The right candidate will have great organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, and enjoy being part of a small team dedicated to its members.

Administrative and executive assistant responsibilities:

  • Travel arrangement
  • Calendar scheduling
  • Database organization/administration – Dropbox organization/filing, BoardEffect, memberclicks
  • Meeting scheduling and prep
  • Event logistics support
  • Board meeting prep – PowerPoint, agendas, etc.
  • Invoicing (Quickbooks)
  • Conference support
  • Strategic planning support – meetings, documents, note taking
  • Support VP and CEO on various projects

    Other opportunities depending on experience and interest:

    • Member and event marketing projects
    • Website and member platform backend support
    • Event planning and logistics, and onsite event support
