Founder Tactics is a media company dedicated to building stronger innovation ecosystems through events and content. Our flagship initiatives include the Fort Lauderdale Tech Meetup, one of South Florida’s fastest-growing tech communities, having hosted 5,000 people in 3 years, and “Founder Tactics with Julia Lucidi” a podcast where each episode uncovers how founders overcame challenges, leveraged their networks, and forged their paths to success.
What is one “must do” (or must not do!) piece of advice you have for founders growing a startup?
Don’t isolate yourself. Building a company can feel lonely, but community changes everything. When you’re surrounded by other founders, 90% of your questions get answered just through conversation, seeing how others solve problems.
What excites you most about Florida’s future as a place to invest and/or grow a startup?
Florida has what every young, thriving startup ecosystem needs — enthusiasm and the competitive drive to win.
What are you currently reading or listening to?
My First Million — a podcast full of founder insights and creative business ideas that comes from spotting everyday problems and turning them into opportunities.
Who or what is your greatest source of inspiration?
My greatest source of inspiration is Rick Rubin’s approach to creativity. His philosophy of simplifying, listening deeply, and leading with intuition has influenced how I build communities and create experiences that are authentic.
Could you share some words of wisdom for success in business or life?
“Under promise, over deliver.” It’s one of the most powerful habits you can build. When you lead with integrity and exceed expectations, you not only build trust — you create long-term relationships, which is the real foundation of success.
Can you tell us about a mentor or someone who has had a positive influence on you?
I’ve been really fortunate to have incredible bosses throughout my career — people who knew me well, challenged me, and saw potential in me even before I did. Many of them have become mentors and close allies in my journey as a founder, and I still lean on their perspective today.
